While I don't mean to take you away from the important work of removing corrupt corporate-jet conservatives from office, one of these days, hopefully soon, one of us will find ourselves in a situation where we can put these crooks on the spot in a public forum. It could be at a Chamber of Commerce meeting, at a press event or maybe even when they're at a small gathering.
I was originally going to ask for questions that could be asked to President Bush, but then decided, why limit it? Some questions could be asked to any Republican and maybe some lucky soul out there will actually be able to record it for us all to enjoy. Preferably before the election. Ideally, someone from the media would ask them, but they generally seem to be cursed with the spine of Wolf Blitzer.
Last week I posted a request for ideas for the future George W. Bush Presidential Library (URL below) and got some good suggestions so I decided to ask everyone, if you had just one question that you could ask President Bush or any of his accomplices, what would it be?
To kick things off, I'll propose a couple of my own. Please feel free to add your own or to better phrase an existing question that you'd like to ask.
Questions for Bush:
- President Bush, you once said that Jesus was your favorite political philosopher. Would Jesus have invaded Iraq? Please provide references from the Bible to justify your answer.
- President Bush, you have said that we're engaged in a war against evil. Why has no one from your family participated in the war by joining the fight?
- [Holding up a copy of the famous photo of Rumsfeld shaking Saddam's hand] President Bush, could you please explain this treasonous photo of Rumsfeld shaking Saddam's hand? How do you square the Reagan/Bush Sr. Administration's support of both Iraq and Iran in the 80's with your including them in the co-called Axis of Evil?
- President Bush, on September 11th, you were alerted that we were under attack. You then proceeded to sit there doing absolutely nothing. Did you shit your pants or something?
- President Bush, you told an Israeli newspaper (?) that God told you to invade Iraq. What was his reason and has he given you any other crappy advice recently?
Questions for your GOP rep:
- [Insert your favorite Rubberstamp name here], 60+ percent of the American public disapproves of President Bush's job performance. You voted with President Bush 9x% of the time. Would it be fair for us to disapprove of your performance in equal numbers? If not, why not?
- One of my Senators, Gordon Smith (R-OR-Rubberstamp/doormat) Chairs the Senate Finance Subcommittee on Long Term Growth and DEBT Reduction. I'd ask him: Senator Smith, the national debt has exploded in the past 6 years ($5 trillion to $8 trillion?). How would you rate your performance in long term debt reduction given your role on the above subcommittee. Based on that performance, do you deserve to be re-elected?
Have some better questions? Maybe a question about the Constitution, their handling of the Iraq War, no-bid contracs, conflicts of interest, crimes committed, etc.?
Fire away!
Note: I can't figure out how to insert a link to my Request for Ideas for the George W. Bush Presidential Library. Please feel free to drop by and ad your suggestions. There were some great ones in the comments:
